9 Centimeters Don’t Lie!After eight weeks under Personal Trainer Kofi Prah, Leslie Nachmann is 9 cm slimmer around the waist, and she’s learning to love muscles. Here’s her latest report from Holmes Place Health Club Gendarmenmarkt:

To be honest I would like the scales to show a little less weight...

But according to my personal trainer, Kofi Prah, you have always to tell yourself: muscles are heavier than fat.

Exactly eight weeks after I started the personal training with Kofi, I have gained 1.8 Kilos of muscle and lost 2.6 Kilos of fat. I Have also lost no less than 9 cm from around my waist!

How do I know all that?

Kofi takes exact measurements every other week. The muscle-to-fat proportion is taken by a device, which sends electrical impulses through your body. Since fat and muscles have different resistances, it can tell almost exactly how much of each is in your body. A rather cool invention, don’t you think?

Women will think: I don’t want to gain muscles!

Me, Mysel and I 

Well, I didn´t expect that I would be able to prove myself in doing my exercises all on my own and without Kofi´s strong arms that quickly…but a week of radio broadcasting from Palma de Mallorca would necessarily mean that I had to train on my own.

Every other day I went from the Arabella Sheraton Golf Hotel´s sunny terrace to the gym right away in order to do my exercises. And- surprisingly it went even easier that I thought: it´s all in your head. Being motivated through that seemingly endless energy of mine I even did some extra training sessions or even more repetitions than Kofi had put in my travel-training-plan.

Some of the exercises are getting really familiar already, they are burned into my brain never to be forgotten again. After the training at 30 degrees and rivers of sweat, I had a refreshing swim in the pool. Pure Bodyfeeling…how could I even live without that for so long?

Leslie's Second Report 

Wow, 10 days flew by like nothing and I can tell about my achievements already!

700g of pure fat are gone, I gained 1kg muscles and 6cm around my belly just disappeared.

Not the worst kind of achievement according to my Trainer Kofi.

At times it was hard of course since you have to train in spite of the aching musles but Kofi knows how to keep up my motivation by doing softer training as part of the regeneration from time to time.

After one hour of muscle traing with weights I have to do endurance training, either jogging, crosstrainer or in the pool.

What can I say: the feeling of my body has already changed completely and not only from the outside…everything got more “tight” and it feels like the whole body posture gets straightened up from the inside.

After finishing my training I go to one of the beautiful saunas in the Holmes Place Healthclub and relax, a great feeling.

`ll spend the next week on Mallorca and therefore Kofi wrote down a training plan for me.

I´ll stick to it and hope that I´ll be able to tell you about more good achievement here next week

 

Personal Training - The First Time

Of course I was a little nervous...6 weeks of personal training and today I was going to be "tortured" for the very first time.
But it alwasy diffrent from what you think...
The Training with Kofi began with a good long chat.
"What goals do you want to achieve?" was the most important question for Kofi.
Easy: loosing weight of course! But also a general fittnes, a strong back and a healthy diet are on the top of my list.

Well, we ended up on the mat (matraze?)... not the worst thing with a trainer like Kofi.
Along with explanations about the right body posture, muscles and the right food from Kofi, I did several exercises on the mat. I used weights or worked against the pressure of my trainer.
I found the simplicity of the exercises while beeing most effective amazing. Aching muscles guaranteed!

I´m looking forward to the next work out because there is no better thing than to be totally exhausted under a hot shower!
