Movies news: The Hurt Locker big winner at BAFTA'sWar movie 'The Hurt Locker' by Katherine Bigelow was the big winner at the British BAFTA awards. The Iraq war drama took home 6 BAFTA's, including the ones for 'Best Film' and 'Best Director'. Bigelow is the first woman to have won that prize
Katherine beat her ex-husband James Cameron, director of 'Avatar'. Both movies were nominated for 8 prizes, but 'Avatar' only won two, including the one for special visual effects. Colin Firth went home with the award for 'Best Actor', for his portrayal of a gay academic. 'Best Actress' was Carey Mulligan, who won the award for her role in 'An Education'. The best supporting roles went to Christoph Waltz and Mo'N ice. Christoph had the best male supporting role in 'Inglourious Basterds', and Mo'nique was the best supporting actress in 'Precious'. The 'Rising Star' Award went to 'Twilight' actress Kristen Stewart.
