Blues and Country singer Johnny Cash is the subject of the next film in the JazzRadio Goes to the Movies series – Walk The Line.

A period of his colourful life was spent in Germany, as a Sergeant with the US Air Force at Landsberg, South-west of Munich, monitoring Soviet Cold War radio traffic.

JazzRadio Goes to The Movies at the luxurious Astor Film Lounge continues next Monday, 8th of February. Walk the Line is a 2005 American biographical drama film, based on the life of Johnny Cash and directed by James




The film focuses on Cash's life from his growing up as the son of an Arkansas cotton picker, dealing with the horrific death of his brother, his drug addiction, his subsequent rescue by his future wife June Carter - and his famous concert at Folsom State Prison.

The film stars Joaquin Phoenix, Reese Witherspoon, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Robert Patrick.

The event starts at 7.30 pm at the Astor Film Lounge, with JazzRadio Presenter and Deejane Alexandra Norak, and includes a free welcome drink and finger food. The film begins at 8 pm.
