France honors Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor

Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor are in Paris where they became knights in the prestigious National Order of Arts and Letters. The two came to France as their film 'I Love You Phillip Morris' premieres in Paris.

'I love you Phillip Morris' depicts the popular actors as two gay lovers. Con man Russell portrayed by Jim Carrey, falls in love with his cellmate Morris. The film shows the efforts of Russell to escape with his lover and is based on true life events.

Carrey and McGregor received the honor from Frederic Mitterand, the Minister of Culture. He welcomed the actors with: 'I Love you Jim Carrey!' and 'I Love you Ewan McGregor!'.

Due to its gay subject matter, the producers had some difficulties finding a Distributor in the United States. The film premiered at the recent Sundance Film Festival.
