Sunday Swing on JazzRadio has now acquired a French accent!

New Presenter Lyria Messahel is Algerian, and her first languages are French and Arabic.
She’s currently asking listeners to help construct the Sunday Swing playlist by nominating their three favourite Swing tracks, which she then plays three-in-a-row, non-stop, in the program.

Lyria, who has a Master’s Degree in Nuclear Astrophysics, took German lessons at the Goethe Institute in Algiers, before moving to Berlin two years ago.

She is studying for her Doctorate in the Chemistry Department of the Free University, Berlin.

Sunday Swing is broadcast on JazzRadio 101.9 from 13 – 18 Hours on Sundays.
