If you want to take a bicycle tour, Bangkok is hardly the first place you would think of!

Bangkok by bike!
But that is one of the suggestions of the Marketing Manager of Tourism in Germany, Moltip Thongsriket. With a bicycle, she says, you can discover peaceful and hitherto unexplored corners of the hectic Thai capital.

Her comments came in an interview with JazzRadio’s Matthias Kirsch for the station’s new Sunday Morning Travel & Jazz Show, from 6 - 12 am, presented by Maira Rothe.

Thailand is also unique in having a monarch who is not just an avid jazz fan but is also an accomplished Saxaphone plaxer with his own jazz band. His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej is revered by Thais and is the longest-serving Monarch in the World.

Bangkok is rightly famous for its temples and nightlife but there is much more to Thailand than the capital city.

Hidden island treasures like Koyao Island Resort, with its luxurious Safari style accommodation and private beaches are being offered this year by Berlin’s Geoplan-Touristik

If you want to stay closer to home but are looking for adventure, Potsdam’s ivent Sailing is offering a holiday on-board an ocean-going racing yacht in the Atlantic Ocean
